Shandong Wankai special polymer polymer materials R&D, manufacturing and production base project has a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan, covering a total area of 286 acres, divided into four phases of construction, with a total construction area of more than 130,0o0 square meters.
The project adopts a five-pot low-temperature short process technology with high efficiency, good controllability and low energy consumption, and uses purified terephthalic acid (PTA), neopentyl [glycol (NPG) or 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) and ethylene glycol (EG) as raw materials to directly esterify and polycondense to produce new high-value-added polyester materials such as PETG, IPET, PCT and PCTG, which can be widely used in food and drug packaging, cosmetic bottles, medical devices, consumer electronics,
plates, sheets, high-performance shrink films and profiles.
Shandong Wankai overall project planning annual output of 480,000 tons, gradually promoted in eight phases, in July 2024 the first phase of the annual output of 60,0o0 tons of new polyester materials has been successfully put into production, the second and third phases of the project is under planning and construction. In order to meet the demand for special polymer materials in the global market, the company will continue to strengthen technological innovation and new product research and development, build the largest new polyester material supply base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and strive to build the world's largest R&D and production base of special polymer polymer new materials.
